learn, respect, fish

Captain Rollo’s Kids at Sea provides marine-awareness fishing trips for children who might not otherwise have such an opportunity to witness the beauty and splendor of being on the ocean. Youth are provided with on-the water ocean preservation education where they learn hands-on about the ecosystems that exist in our coastal waters.

Since 1999, over 150,000 children have benefitted from the Captain Rollo Kids at Sea Program.

Support Captain Rollo’s through the Youth Coastal Fishing Program Act (HR3925)

Mike Lum of Captain Rollo’s testified in front of Congress on January 18th to solicit grant money for the proposed 2 million budget put forth for youth coastal fishing.

On June 7, 2023, the Youth Coastal Fishing Program Act (H.R. 3925) was introduced in the House of Representatives by Congresswomen Maria Salazar (R-Fla.), Sydney Kamlager-Dove (D-Calif.) and a bipartisan group of nine additional Representatives. It was introduced on the same day in the Senate (S. 1860) by Senators Roger Wicker (R-Miss.) and Maria Cantwell (D-Wash.). The bill would create a $2 million grant program within the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) for projects that take children fishing in the ocean or Great Lakes, with priority given to projects that serve underserved communities.
